Friedrich Hölderlin, Vom Abgrund nämlich …
I printed Hölderlin’s fragmentary poem on cut-up large-format posters originally from the car industry. The images on these advertising photos, largely in shades of blue, become abstract shapes due to the big screen dots and the small cut-ups. The typography stages Hölderlin’s text against this background, using Candida fonts in various weights and sizes. Depending on how the light strikes it, the typography’s silver bronzing stands out clearly (glowing) against the mostly dark background.
